Dominie Megaplensis wrote to the Classis of
Amsterdam from New Amsterdam where he was then settled of the persecution and death of
Father Jogues during his pastorate at Rensselaerwyck and stated that the Mohawks gave to
him the Missal, Breviary and clothing of the murdered missionary.
