By the
"Reverend Mr. Halsey, Minister of Plattsburgh" Lodema, daughter of
John Ransom and his wife Rhoda Pratt, and John Craig a native of Scotland who
had settled in Canada, were married. They made their home on a farm of 500
acres on the lake shore in Peru where John Craig built the first and only dock
(Peru landing) between Essex and Cumberland Head.

Birth, at Unity, N.H., of Allen Breed, Jr., son of Allen and Judith (Livingston)
Breed who settled at Crown Point in 1808 or 1809. Allen Jr. owned an
extensive farm two miles north of the village.
