Burlington, was burned the old "Howard House," on the corner of Main and St.
Paul streets, present site of Van Ness House.
Sunday, August 4, 1867
On board the frigate Colorado, off Fort Pickens, Fla. died Capt. Thurber Bailey,
son of John W. Bailey and his wife, Emily Thurber, a daughter of Gen. Thurber of
Rouses Point.
