The Rev
Archdeacon George C. Pennell, S.T.D. began his charge with St. John’s and
Christ’s churches in Champlain and on the same date Clinton County Associates
Mission was formed, including the six Episcopal churches existing in Chateaugay,
Ellenburgh, Centreville, Chazy, Champlain and Rouses’s Point, all these
parishes occupying a territory forty-five by nine miles in extent.
