A gavel donated to Saranac Chapter, D.A.R. by Mr. John Henry Myers.  This gavel, made from wood taken from the “Royal Savage,” Gen. Arnold’s flagship on the battle of Valcour, is trimmed with bands of silver made from a spoon that once belonged to Mrs. Lawrence Myers, mother of the donor, the bands exquisitely engraved with the name of Chapter and giver.
